Comparators target portable applications
05/02/2010 Email to a friend

STMicroelectronics has completed its portfolio of comparators in space saving packages, by introducing the LMV331 in a choice of 2 x 1.25mm SC70 or 2.9 x 1.6mm SOT23 form factors.

Comparators target portable applicationsBattery powered devices such as notebook pcs, PDAs and other handheld mobile communications products are major users of low-power comparators, such as the LMV331, for duties including signal handling or event detection. ST's comparators have been designed to enable designers to optimise power consumption, response time and package size according to application requirements.

According to ST, the new LMV331 variants, in 5pin packages, maximise choice for designers seeking a combination of speed and power for space constrained applications.

The LMV331 has a supply voltage range of 2.7 to 5V, with a current consumption (Operating) of 20µA (Vcc = 2.7V). The propagation delay is 200ns, while the input-offset voltage is 1mV – and the input-offset current is 1nA. It has an operating temperature range of -40 to 85°C, and an ESD tolerance of 2kV HBM / 200V MM.
